Equipping the workplace environment

4. Equipping the workplace environment

In the following you will find a list of the recommended tools and required
materials to convert the vehicle.

Use double-sided adhesive tape to secure for instance the ultrasonic
capsule or small parts to be soldered onto the working pad and thus
avoid any slipping.

Before doing any soldering work, first tin all cable ends from the set
provided. You will thus, when soldering, minimize the risk of dama-
ging the installed components, the universal PCB or the conversion
PCB through overheating or lengthy contact with the soldering iron.

TIPS

Recommended tools and materials

Please hold the following tools and materials ready:

-

Soldering iron or soldering station with 30 to 40 W heating power and
a very thin, clean, not oxidizing bit approx. 0.8 mm wide on the sol-
dering iron.

-

Holder or post allowing to support the soldering iron safely.

-

Electronics solder (soldering tin) with flux filling (rosin-cored solder) of
0.3 to 0.5 mm diameter. You will require the electronics solder to exe-
cute all necessary soldering joints. Liquid flux and acidic soldering paste
are unsuitable for soldering.
