Installing the 1600/3600/3900 Platform

Once the inner rails are installed onto the unit, and the outer rails and
mounting brackets are installed onto the rack, you can easily install the unit
into the rack.
Important
Before you install the unit into the rack, be sure to bring the ball retainer on
each of the outer rails fully forward. Figure 2.7 shows the proper position of
the ball retainer for installation.

Installing the unit into a rail-mount rack
The 1600/3600/3900 platform includes hardware that you install to secure
the unit to the rack.
To install the unit into the rack
1. Extend the outer rails to the fully locked position.
2. Slide the ball retainer on each rail to the front of the rail, as shown in
Figure 2.7.
3. Align the rear portion of the inner rails to the black plastic
alignment pins (shown in Figure 2.7).
4. Slide the unit into the rack, fitting the inner rails attached to the unit
to the outer rails attached to the rack, and continue sliding the rail to
the fully closed position.
Note: If the rail stops suddenly or locks, press the levers on the
inner rail to enable the rails to slide into the fully closed position.
5. Move the unit in and out of the rack to settle slide operation.
6. Ensure that all screws and Keps nuts are properly tightened.
7. Secure the rail mount lock brackets to the rack using at least two
screws on each side, as shown in Figure 2.8, on page 2-8.
