LAN port cabling

For 10Base-T (10 Mbps) networks, use a Category 3 or better cable.

For 100Base-T networks, use a Category 5 cable.
•
Use a
straight-through cable
to connect to a switch, hub, or router.
•
Use a
crossover cable
to connect directly to a PC. Wire the connector as
shown in the tables below.

UID # label

Contains the unique User ID number (MAC address) of the
unit (for example, 00-05-A6-00-00-01). On the PCS4, the MAC address is on
a label in the upper-right corner of the rear panel.
