Periodic Maintenance
The procedures for periodic maintenance to the Vortex are outlined below. Determine your usage
conditions and environment and adjust as necessary.

of way oil. Do not use excess oil.

Note: The adjustable height column, spindle, linear rails, linear bearings, and gearbox (G3 & G5
models only) do NOT require periodic lubrication. All moving components on the Vortex are pre-
lubed for life.
Replacing Fuses
Main Power Fuses
The Vortex has 3 fuses protecting the main
incoming power to the machine. These fuses are
located behind the left side panel of the machine
are accessed by removing this panel (Figure 9-
1). To replace the fuses follow the steps below.
1.
Turn off the On/Off switch.
2.
Unplug the machine from its power
source and follow appropriate
lockout/tagout procedures.
3.
Remove the left side panel from the
machine.
4.
Locate the fuses. They are near the top
of the machine just below the drive.
5.
Carefully remove the suspected blown
fuse and test it using a continuity tester.
WARNING
Turning off the On/Off
switch does not de-energize
the main power fuses. You
must disconnect and lockout
the machine at the plug.
