Tool I/ O Connections

The D-Sub connector on the rear of the machine

is used for the addition of Tool I/O. The

operator interface system setup screen contains

a Control Mode selector. This must be set to

Local Opto or Local LC (Light Curtain). The

default setting is Local Opto. The pin

configuration with descriptions for the tool I/O

connection is shown in Table 3-1. Figure 3-3 is a

wiring diagram illustrating the tool input

connections and Figure 3-4 illustrates the tool

output connections. There is additional

information about how to configure the Vortex

for tool I/O in Chapter 6.
