1) Start the engine of the vehicle.
2) Connect the end of the 12 V car cigarette lighter adapter cable (fig.3) into the char-
ging connector of the device (powerbank) and then insert the adapter into the 12
V cigarette lighter socket in the vehicle.
y
In the event that the device is not being charged while the engine is running, check
that there is voltage in the vehicle‘s socket and also the integrity of the wire in the
fuse of the cable‘s 12 V connector. To access the fuse, it is necessary to unscrew
the „cap“ on the 12 V connector (see fig.10). In the event that the fuse is damaged,
replace it with a new one (fuse type F2AL 250 V).

3) After charging, disconnect the charging cable connector from the device and disco-
nnect the cable from the vehicle‘s 12 V socket.

THE AUXILIARY JUMP STARTER IS INTENDED FOR STARTING 12 V
CAR BATTERIES
y
If you are unsuccessful starting the vehicle using the normal method, try checking
the battery‘s terminal voltage by a simple method, e.g. by using the Extol® Premium
8897310 Battery Tester, by inserting the battery tester plug into the vehicle‘s 12 V
cigarette lighter socket to show the voltage on its display.
The table below provides an overview of the car battery voltage relative to its charge level.

Jump starter Extol® Premium 8897321 is standard supplied with jumper
cables Extol® Premium 8897321A with intelligent electrical diagnostics and
protections against malfunctions and undesirable events described later in
this text. Jump starter Extol® Premium 8897320 is standard supplied with
jumper cables Extol® Premium 8897320A without electrical diagnostics and
light signals. For jump starter Extol® Premium 8897320 one can purchase
jumper cables Extol® Premium 8897321A separately, however jumper cables
Extol® Premium 8897320A are not intended for jump starter Extol® Premium
8897321 for reason of a higher starting current.

WARNING
y
Carefully read the entire user‘s manual before first use and keep it with the product
so that the user can become acquainted with it. If you lend or sell the product to
somebody, include this user‘s manual with it. Prevent this user‘s manual from being
damaged. The manufacturer takes no responsibility for damages or injuries arising
from use that is in contradiction to this user‘s manual. Before using the device,
acquaint yourself with its control elements, correct use of the outputs and the use
of the supplied accessories. Check the device and its accessories for damage before
using them. Do not use a damaged device or accessories and have them replaced with
new original equipment.
Charging the device
y
The charge level of the powerbank is indicated by the number of lit diodes when the
power switch is pressed.
y
indicates the battery‘s charge level. If all the diodes are lit, the device is fully charged.
y
The device can be charged either by using the power adapter for 230 V ~50 Hz (fig.4) or
via the 12 V car cigarette lighter socket using the supplied 12 V charging cable (fig.3).
CHARGING VIA THE POWER ADAPTER FOR 230 V ~50 HZ
y
Before using the 230 V charger, check the charger for damage. Do not use a damaged
charger and have it replaced for an original unit supplied by the manufacturer. Do not
use any other type of charger than the original one supplied by the manufacturer. The
use of a different type of charger could result in explosion or fire due to inappropriate
output parameters of the charger.
1) Before connecting the charger to a power source, check that the voltage in the power
grid corresponds to the 100-240 V~50/60 Hz range. The charger can only be used in
this voltage range.
2) Before you start charging the device (powerbank), disconnect all the connected
(powered) devices from it. Drawing current from the powerbank while it is being char-
ged damages the built-in battery. Likewise, before using the device as a jump starter,
it is necessary to first disconnect the charger and the connected (powered) devices.
3) First insert the connector of the charger into the socket of the device marked „IN“ and
14 V-1 A (on model 8897320) or a symbol of a power plug with cable (on model
8897321). And then insert the charger into a 230 V ~ power socket. Do not alter the
described sequence of steps.
The device is fully charged when all the indicators on the device are continuously lit.
The device can be charged also when not fully discharged
4) After charging, first disconnect the charger from the 230 V~ socket and then from
the charged device. Do not alter the described sequence of steps.
CHARGING VIA THE 12 V CAR CIGARETTE LIGHTER SOCKET
y
Only charge the device (powerbank) from the 12 V car cigarette lighter
socket while the car is running. Charging the device (powerbank) wit-
hout the engine running would discharge the car battery.
