IX. Waste disposal
PACKAGING MATERIALS

Throw packaging materials into a container for the
respective sorted waste.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
AT THE END OF ITS LIFETIME
y
According to Directive (EU) 2012/19, unusable electrical
appliances must not be thrown out with communal
waste since they contain substances that are hazardous
to the environment, but rather must be handed over for
ecological disposal at an electrical equi-
pment waste collection point. You can
find information about electrical equip-
ment collection points and collection
conditions at your local town council
office or at your vendor.

The hot knife is very hot when turned on,
risk of burns. Do not touch the hot parts
before they cool down.
y
Do not operate the device in locations with a flammable
or explosive atmosphere. Do not place the device in the
vicinity of easily flammable materials. Prevent the devi-
ce from coming into contact with flammable liquids,
organic solvents and corrosive substances (acids, lye,
water, salt solutions, bleaches, etc.).

Do not operate the device in the rain or in a wet envi-
ronment. Prevent water from
entering the inner parts of the
device. Risk of injury by electri-
cal shock in a wet environment.

Do not leave the device turned on without supervision.

Norm EN 60335-2-45 requires that the user‘s manual
for portable heat tools, the following information is
provided. It is left up to the reasonable consideration of
parents, whether they allow children 8 years of age and
older to use this tool or not.
Prevent the device from being used by persons (including
children) whose physical, sensory or mental disability or
incapacity or insufficient experience or knowledge pre-
vents them from safely using the device without supervi-
sion or instruction. Children must not play with the device.
It is generally not assumed that the device will be
used by very small children (age 0-3 years inclusive)
and used by small children without supervision (age
between 3 and 8 years). It is conceded that seriously
handicapped persons may have needs outside the level
specified by this norm (EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-45).

The repair of the device or the replacement
of the power cord must be performed only
by the authorised service centre for the
Extol® brand.

Before performing repairs or service maintenance, dis-
connect the power cord from the the el. power source.

Protect the power cord against mechanical and thermal
damage. Danger of injury by el. shock. In the event that
the power cord is damaged, do not use the device and
immediately unplug it from the
el. power source and have it
repaired at an authorised servi-
ce centre for the Extol® brand.
VII. Storage
y
Store the cooled down device in a dry location that is out of
reach of children where temperatures do not exceed 40°.
Protect the device against direct sunlight, rodents, radiant
heat sources, high humidity and ingression of water.
VIII. Meanings
of markings on the label
It meets the respective
EU harmonisation legal directives.
Electrical equipment at the end
of its lifetime (see below).
Serial number.
Includes the year and month
of manufacture and production batch
marking of the product.
