ATTENTION
Prior to using the detector for detection, it is necessary to calibrate it for
each scanned material, which will shield away any potential effect of the
surrounding environment. It is thus necessary to calibrate to the „zero
field“, which the detector will store in memory.
CALIBRATION IS PERFORMED AS FOLLOWS:
y
After pressing the button for the activation of the detection function for the material,
which you wish to detect (i.e. the button with the lightning, steel beam or wood symbol
is pressed), place the detector in an environment where there are no nearby metal items
or conductive wires or electronics under voltage or strong magnetic or electromagnetic
field or wood - i.e. non-presence of the material which you wish to detect, which can be
performed by pointing the detector into free space in the air and then pressing and hol-
ding the same button for the detection of the material that you wish to detect. When
the button is pressed for the first time, a green star indicator light will be lit inside the
target at the top of the detector (fig. 1, position 1) and when the same button is pressed
again and held down, it will turn off and the same star will turn on again together with
a „peep“ sound signal. This will save into the memory of the detector the zero field,
which act as a reference to the intensity of the pole of the scanned material.
Perform this calibration every time the device is turned on and for every
scanned material. If this is not done, your detector may provide absurd infor-
mation, e.g. a positive response upon placing the detector on rubber.
TURNING OFF
To turn off the detector, press the same button as used for turning it on.
y
If the detector is in the negative detection mode, meaning that it is not detecting
any detectable material within its range, it will automatically turn itself off after
approx. 4 minutes. If the detector is in the positive detection mode, it will turn
itself off after approx. 5 minutes.
VI. Using the detector
After pressing the button for the detection of the required material
(for metal - button with steel beam, for metal under voltage - button with the
lightning, or for the detection of wood - button with the wood symbol)
and after
calibrating the detector, place the detector against the scanned object.
In the event of positive detection, the detector signals are as follows:
WHEN A METAL WITHOUT ELECTRIC CURRENT (VOLTAGE) IS DETECTED
WITH A STEEL BEAM SYMBOL ON THE DISPLAY:
1) Sound signal with uninterrupted beeping.
2) Star of the light signal in the target at the top of the detector (fig. 1, posi-
tion 1) will be changing colour from green, signalling the non-presence
of the scanned material, to orange at a signal response strength from
approx. 12% to red from an intensity of approx. 22%. The orange colour
indicates that the scanned material is in the vicinity of the detector, and
the red colour indicates that the scanned material is present very close
to the detection zone of the detector and gives a strong signal response.
When there is a strong response signal, the star will not flash.
3) On the display, the above described relationship to the response signal
intensity strength is expressed by colour and the height of column „d“, fig. 2,
where underneath the coloured column, information about the intensity of
the response signal intensity is more accurately shown in percent „h“, fig. 2.
At a signal intensity of approx. 11%, the colour of the column is green, up to 27% it is
yellow, at an intensity of 30% the colour is orange and above 30% it darkens until red.
IV. Inserting / replacing the battery
We recommend that a good quality battery is used to power the detector as it will
ensure a longer operating time.
Only place a dry battery into the detector.
1. Remove the cover on the rear side of the detector and place a new 9 V battery into
the battery compartment.
When placed into the battery compartment, the battery must be inserted in such
a way that the larger diameter battery terminal with negative (-) polarity pushes
against the wide contact in the battery compartment. Place the battery on to the
inserted ribbon for easy removal at a later time. Place excess length of the ribbon
underneath the cover.
2. Then close the battery compartment using the cover.

Remove the battery when the flat battery symbol appears on the display. A weak
battery may result is erroneous results. In the event that the battery is weak, the
detector may spontaneously turn off during measurement.
When not using the device for an extended period of time, take the battery out of it,
as the battery could discharge or corrode inside the device.

ATTENTION
y
Carefully read the user‘s manual before using the detector and keep it with the detec-
tor so that the user can become acquainted with it. Protect this user‘s manual against
damage.
y
For the correct function of the detector, it is necessary that it is clean and dry.
Especially important is that it is free of metal dust.
TURNING ON
To turn on the detector, press button 6, fig. 1.
y
When you wish to detect metal, press the button with the steel beam symbol:
button 3, fig. 1.
y
To detect metal under current, press the button with the lightning symbol:
button 7, fig. 1.
y
To detect wood, press the button with the wood symbol: button 4, fig. 1.
During an active detection function, the symbol for the respective scanned material
will be shown on the display, see fig. 2.
