Fig. 3
When button 5 on fig. 1 is pressed,
the display will appear as in fig. 3,
where the deviation of the moving
dot from the centre of the target
shows the deviation of the detector
from the horizontal plane in degrees
± ° on axes x/y. This function can be
used as a spirit level when the detec-
tor is placed on an object.
1)
Depends on the type of material and the size of the scanned object and furthermore
on the „shielding“ of the scanned object by the surrounding environment.
2)
With metal poles or pipes, the detection depth depends on their diameter, see table 1.
3)
Detection of wood is based on the principle of a very small yet present electrical
charge in wood, which nevertheless affects the electromagnetic field transmitted
by the detector to a certain degree, and thus it is possible to detect wood, which has
a substantially lower sensitivity than metal, down to a certain depth.
4)
The accuracy and sensitivity of detection is given by the given type of material and is
described in greater detail in the chapter dealing with the operation of the detector.
The sensitivity and principle of detection are provided above in point 3).
5)
The detector may identify electrical wiring with a voltage of less than 110V
to be voltage-free metals. If the electrical wiring is not under voltage, it
will be detected as a voltage-free metal (signalled without the lightning
symbol on the display). Electrical wiring can be distinguished from other
metals by the fact, that today‘s wiring is usually made from copper, which is
non-magnetic.
6)
Depends on the quality and power level of the battery that is used.
