Short-circuit protection
A short-circuit is signalled by the UPS with a relevant symbol displayed on the
screen. When a short-circuit is detected, the power supply to the output is
disconnected. If the UPS is switched off while signalling a short-circuit and the short-
circuit is not removed, the UPS switches to BYPASS mode, which triggers automatic
input fuses.
Against overvoltage (Anti-surge)
The UPS unit is equipped with anti-surge protection on input to protect circuits of the
connected load(s) against potential voltage surges resulting from weather conditions
and interference in the power network.
Thermal protection
The UPS has thermal protections for protecting its systems from overheating. The
UPS switches to BYPASS mode if critical temperature is exceeded. If excessive
temperature persists, the UPS should be switched off.
EPO
EPO (Emergency Power Off) is a system which interrupts power supply from the
UPS output to receivers in extreme situations or in emergency (e.g. fire). The system
can be activated in two ways:
- by opening or closing the contacts of the external EPO connector (trigger),
depending on the configuration of the contact (NC - normally closed, NO - normally
open), described in details in the chapter “Additional Functionalities of the UPS”,
- by pressing the key on the UPS unit's front panel.
The input power
supply is activated only after the user’s intervention consisting in
switching the UPS (if it was triggered externally) off and restarting it.
The EPO connection contacts show safe voltage levels isolated from the remaining
UPS unit systems.
CAUTION!
The EPO circuit must be separated and must not be
connected to other installations.
