Operating Modes
ModFactor’s footswitches are multi-purpose and operate in one of three modes, Play Mode,
Bank Mode, and System Mode. In normal use, ModFactor is in either Play Mode or Bank
Mode. Pressing and holding the Right Footswitch switches between Play and Bank Mode.
System Mode is used to set up MIDI, external controls and various system parameters.
Play Mode
In Play Mode, the Billboard graphically displays an animated representation of the modulation
and the three Footswitches are used to control the Effect. Note: The animated display can be
turned off in System Mode. When the animated display is OFF, the billboard displays the
current Effect Name in Play Mode.
Modulation Display
The animated graphic consists of two elements –
1) a solidly lit horizontal row of LEDs that represents the full range of modulation
2) a vertical bar that sweeps back and forth at the modulation rate. With Depth set to 0
(full counterclockwise), the bar sits at the left most column of the display. As Depth is
increased, the bar sweeps further across the display. With Depth set to max, the vertical
bar traverses the full range of the display.
Play Mode Footswitches
Active Footswitch
The “Active” footswitch is used to toggle between Active and Bypass. The Active LED is lit
orange when the Effect is in use. When Bypassed, the Active LED is off.
Slow/Fast [Brake] Footswitch
The Slow/Fast [Brake] footswitch is dual purpose. Pressing and releasing the switch toggles
the slow mode on and off. When Slow mode is engaged the LFO’s will slow down by a
predetermined factor simulating the speed change of a Leslie speaker cabinet. When Slow
mode is active the Slow/Fast LED is lit orange.
