Using Your Breast Milk
1. Thaw frozen milk slowly in the refrigerator. Avoid letting milk sit out at room
temperature to thaw. (For quicker thawing, hold container under running
water – start with cool water and gradually increase the temperature.)
2. Just before feeding, warm refrigerated milk:
• Use a bottle warmer, or
• Hold the sealed bottle under warm, running water, or
• Heat water in a cup or other small container, then place sealed
bottle in the water to warm.
• DO NOT heat breast milk for more than 15 minutes.
3. The milk fat may separate while stored. Briefly shake or swirl milk to mix
before offering it to baby.
4. If feeding from the collection bottle, you must use Evenflo B
Standard Nipples. Other brands or types of nipples will not work effectively.
When using the Evenflo B Standard Nipples for feeding, squeeze
nipple base and insert through the
TOP of the cap ring. Once lip is inside
cap ring, release the nipple and lightly push the inside lip towards the edge.
Hand-tighten cap ring with care not to over or under tighten. Evenflo Balance
+ Standard Nipples sold separately.
5. Always test the temperature of the milk before feeding.
IMPORTANT!
•
NEVER microwave human milk or heat directly on the stove.
•
If baby does not finish breast milk at one feeding, unfinished amount must be
discarded within 2 hours.

WARNING
For optimal performance, follow these steps after every use:
• Completely disassemble the flange assembly, see page 5.
• Rinse bottles, diaphragms, valves, membranes, flanges, and flange
inserts in cool water to remove milk residue.
• Hand wash with warm, soapy water.
• Rinse thoroughly and air dry before assembly. You may also wash your
flange assembly (after rinsing) on the top rack of your dishwasher.
• Use care when handling the valve/membrane assembly during cleaning
to avoid damage. Before each use, visually inspect the individual
components for cracks, chips, tears, discoloration or deterioration. In
the event that damage to the device is observed, please discontinue use
until the parts have been replaced.
• Wipe the pump unit with a clean, damp cloth as needed.
• Inspect the tubing for condensation or milk after each use. If condensation is
observed in the tubing, contact Evenflo for replacement parts.
NEVER immerse pump unit or AC adapter in water or attempt to sanitize in a
microwave oven. Damage to parts and oven may occur.
DO NOT boil or wash
tubing or tubing adapter.
