CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Apart from replacing the battery, the device requires no maintenance. Clean the exterior of the
device only with a soft, dry cloth or a small brush.
Never use caustic cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as they could damage the surface of
the case.
Do not press on the sensitive display surface.
NOTE ON THE WIRELESS RANGE OF THE OUTDOOR
SENSOR
Normally, when operated in a single-family home, fault-free operation should be possible. Like any
other appliance that works with radio transmissions, interferences can occur.
Please note:
-
The outdoor sensor works in the 868MHz range, which is also used by other products. For this
reason, devices that operate on the same or a nearby frequency can lead to limitations of the
operation and the range.
-
The range with direct line of sight between the sensor (external sensor) and receiver (wall
clock) is up to 100m (the so-called “free-fi eld range“). This (theoretical) range is greatly
reduced in buildings depending on the construction and environment conditions.
Ferro-concrete, metal doors or the use of metal-coated heat insulation can have a negative
effect on the range. The range is shortened.
Other causes for a reduction in range are:
-
High frequency interference of all kinds (e.g. microwave oven)
-
Buildings of all types (walls etc.) and vegetation
-
Conductive metals in the vicinity of the units, or within or close to the radio path, e.g. radiators,
metal insulation, glass windows, reinforced concrete fl oors etc.
-
Infl uence on the antennas‘ radiation pattern due to the distance of transmitter or receiver to
conductive surfaces or objects (metal tables, but also human bodies or fl oors)
-
Broadband interference in urban areas that reduces the signal-to-noise ratio; the signal is not
recognised because of the “noise“
-
Irradiation from insuffi ciently shielded electronic devices, e.g. computers operated openly, or
similar.
DISPOSAL
Device
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
tions.
Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries. Disposal in the domestic waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the
following symbols. You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of
charge to the offi cial collection points in your municipality, in our stores, or anywhere
where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold!
