Install Rack Enclosures
11
Rough-in Conduit and Wiring
Remove Option Modules
Prior to installing conduit and pulling wires into the ERn enclosure, remove the rack power supply (top
of enclosure) and blank option module (bottom of enclosure) to provide a access to the conduit
openings.
1:
Loosen the two captured thumbscrews that secure the rack power supply to the ERn enclosure.
2:
Pull the supply straight out of the rack.
3:
Repeat for the blank option module, Ethernet Switch, or secondary power supply.
4:
Place these modules in a safe place until the conduit rough-in and wiring terminations are
complete.
WARNING:
RISK OF DEATH BY ELECTRIC SHOCK! Before installing input power, make
sure the upstream source of power is off or isolated. Follow appropriate
Lockout/Tagout procedures as described in NFPA Standard 70E.
AVERTISSEMENT:
Note:
For 230 VAC CE enclosures, before removing any modules, loosen the hardware and
slide the module retention bar to the left.
Note:
An ERn4 at 230 VAC does not support the Redundant Rack Power Supply (ERn-RPS)
nor the Ethernet Switch Option Module (ERn-NET). Instead an ERn4 at 230 VAC is
shipped from the factory with a rack power supply installed in the top (normal)
position and in the lower option module slot.
Rack power supply (ERn-PS)
The blank option module installed at
shipment can be replaced with either
the Ethernet Switch Module (ERn-NET)
or the Redundant Power
Supply (ERn-RPS).
