Sensor Supply
Every sensor that can be switched to the ES441.1 has an individual sensor sup
-
ply voltage which can be set separately.
The cable connected to the sensor port of the ES441.1 transfers both the sen
-
sor supply voltage and the sensor output voltage for the sensor. Additional
cables or an additional external power supply for the sensor supply voltage are
not required.

Sensor Supply for a Sensor Channel
The sensor supply voltage is generated from the module operating voltage in
every sensor channel. The sensor supply voltage can be modified in steps. The
user can switch off the sensor supply voltage of each sensor channel in the
application software, select one of the defined values b5 V and +15 V
or enter or define any value within the value range.
With a short-circuit of the sensor supply output against ground, the sensor
power supply of this channel is automatically switched off. Every sensor supply
output is protected against overvoltage. A fuse blows if the maximum value is
exceeded. When a short-circuit occurs and a fuse blows, the application soft
-
ware receives channel-specific information which can be evaluated.
NOTE
The supply voltages of the sensors are not galvanically isolated from the
operating voltage of the module.
