Open the fasteners on the lid and empty the ash box.

If there are large pieces of slag in the ash, the
combustion chamber and the tilting grate must be
checked and the de-ashing interval reduced, if
necessary.
Inspect the integrity of the seal on the ash box lid, and
replace it if necessary.

Inspect the integrity of the ash box seals on the boiler,
replace them if necessary.

Attaching the ash box to the boiler
Reattach the cover of the ash box and secure with the
fasteners. Then re-open the covers.

Push the ash box over the connection on the boiler and
attach it to the boiler with the fasteners.
