Programming
When the LSRA-232 board is installed, LSRA(-C)’s can be connected
to an FCOM-232 port installed in a DCPU (Figure Chapter 2-3 and
Figure Chapter 2-4) an annunciator network is created. Each
annunciator network can support up to 32 LSRA(-C) annunciators
using either Class A or B wiring. Communications between the DCPU
and the first (and last for Class A operation) annunciator uses RS-232
format communications. Because of the distance limitations when
using the RS-232 format, the first (and last for Class A) annunciator(s)
must be located within 50ft (15M) of the DCPU. Each annunciator in
this configuration can store up to 650 messages in its memory. The
DCPU port should be configured in the DCPU database as a “Display”
port using the FCC Compiler Program.
When connected to an FCC network, the entire LSRA(-C) network is
configured in the FCC Compiler Program as a single
DISPLAY
connected to the DCPU.
DCPU Port Connections
When connected to an FCC/DCPU port, any combination of up to 32
LSRAs and LSRA-Cs may be connected together to form an
FCC/DCPU annunciator network.
The first LSRA(-C) is connected to
an FCOM-232 installed in an FCC/DCPU. When multiple LSRA-Cs
are used, the data between multiple LSRA-Cs is sent between units
using an RS-485 format. The first (and
last when wired in a Class A
configuration) annunciator cannot be located more than 50' (15M) from
the FCOM-232 installed in the DCPU when using RS-232
communications.
Note:
On FCC networks, when the RS-232 port on the first and last
LSRA(-C) is used to connect to the FCOM-232 in the DCPU, the first
and last LSRA-(C) are not available to drive a local printer.
