2. Integrating the HFD with the Hip Protector
Integrating the HFD with the hip protector includes:

Pairing the HFD with the Basic Service – or - Installing the HFD with the Active Service

Testing Fall Detection

Inserting the HFD into the Hip Protector
2.1. Pairing the HFD with the Basic Service
To pair an HFD with the basic service:
1. Press and hold the PAIRING button on the control panel until you hear the double beep.
2. Press and hold HFD’s button for five seconds.
3. Ensure that the pairing process is successful. The process can have the following results:
Control Panel Behavior Meaning
EMERGENCY button ring blinks blue. Pairing is successful
Control panel beeps and EMERGENCY button ring
lights up red for two seconds.
Pairing is unsuccessful. Try again.
Control panel makes a low pitch beep and
EMERGENCY button ring lights up blue as
EMERGENCY button lights up red.
This HFD has already been paired with this control
panel.
Control panel beeps and the EMERGENCY button
ring lights up red
Control panel memory is full. No additional devices
can be paired.
4. Test HFD fall detection. Refer to 2.3 Testing Fall Detection on page 7.
