4.1. Sanitary Hot Water Configurations
Users are heavily recommended to install a buffer tank into the chosen configuration, especially when the
method of hot water distribution is below 20L/W of water volume.
The buffer tank should be installed between the heat pump and the distribution system, in order to:

Ensure the heat pump unit provides a stable and sufficient water flow rate.
•
Minimize fluctuation of the system’s heating/cooling load by storing unused heat.
•
Increase capacity of water volume distribution, which helps ensure proper heat pump operation.
If the method of hot water distribution is capable of dispersing a large enough flow rate, a buffer tank can
be excluded from installation into the configuration. If so, please move the cooling/heating temperature
sensor (TC, #10 on page 1) to the water return pipe, so that fluctuations of water temperature due to
compressor speed changes are minimized.
