Color Setup options
Color Setup allows you to set the parameters the RIP Station uses to control color
output. Most of these parameters can be overridden on a job-by-job basis. See the User
Guide and the Color Guide for more information.

In the list of options that follows, default values, where applicable, appear in square
brackets.
RGB Source Profile
EFIRGB/sRGB (PC)/Apple Standard/None [EFIRGB]
The RGB source is the color space used to control color for conversion from screen to
printed output.
EFIRGB is based on the reference points used in the creation of the
RIP Station software. sRGB is based on an average of a large number of PC monitors.
Apple Standard
is the standard reference point for Apple’s ColorSync software.
Rendering Style
Color Proofing Photo/Presentation/Photographic/Color Proofing Solid
[Color Proofing-Photo]
The CRD (color rendering dictionary) defines how colors are converted from the RGB
color space to device CMYK.
Photographic
, designed for images, retains the relative
balance between colors to maintain the overall appearance of the image. Presentation ,
designed for bright colors, produces the saturated prints needed for most business
presentations, but handles photographic images the same way as the Photographic
CRD. The two
Color Proofing
selections, designed for CMYK printing, provide a close
match to the device being simulated. Color Proofing-Solid also renders the color of the
chosen media as the background color, whereas
Color Proofing-Photo
does not. For

1. In the main Setup menu, choose Color Setup.
2. Enter the options appropriate to the printing requirements at the site.
3. When you have finished, save changes.
