Safety Information
WARNING!
–
DANGER FROM PROCESS
It is possible that the sensors are to be installed in ducting
containing process particulate that is hazardous to health.
Unless the process conditions are known to be entirely safe, suitable
precautions such as the use of breathing apparatus or duct purging/
detoxifying must be employed before any entry is made into the duct
for installation or maintenance purposes.
If in doubt, consult the local Safety Officer and/or local or site-specific
safety procedures.
CAUTION!
Do NOT try to rotate or adjust the sensor by twisting its enclosure, as
this can damage the sensor.
CAUTION!
Non-metallic parts may be cleaned with a dry or lightly dampened
cloth only. Do NOT use solvents or abrasives as this may damage the
surfaces.
5.2
Mounting the Sensor
5.2.1
Transmitter and Receiver Heads
The Transmitter and Receiver heads are mounted on opposite sides of the stack,
such that the light beam emitted by the Transmitter enters the Receiver. The
sensor heads mount to the stack via a standard 1½”150lb ANSI flange.
Both sensor heads are fitted with an alignment aid to allow adjustment of the
beam direction. The sensor heads are also fitted with an air purge with air
filtration, see
Figure 8: Installation diagram (for a sensor head).
