Application information
Before starting the treatment please make sure:
You have read and understood the content of this manual
You strictly follow the WARNINGS and CAUTIONS mentioned under precautionary
instructions
Check the patient for any possible contra-indications.
Seated Leg Press
Preparation
•
Be seated with your lower back fully supported by the back rest
•
Adapt the foot support in such a way that your knees are approximately 90º flexed in the starting
position
•
Place your feet on the foot support and grasp the handles
Execution
•
Contract your abdominal and low back muscles before you start with the exercise
•
Extend your legs in a slow and controlled manner so the leg extension becomes a smooth and
continuous movement
•
Keep the extended position for two seconds and do not overextend your knees
•
Flex your legs at a controlled and smooth pace
Attention marks
•
Perform a complete extension and flexion
•
K
eep the pace controlled and don’t move fast to prevent any jerking movements
•
Keep your lower back well supported by the back rest to prevent high spinal loading
Squat
Preparation
•
Adjust the backrest to the appropriate position (sitting
–
lying or in-between) depending on the
desired and realizable ankle- hip- and/or knee-angle
•
Set the starting position of the chair (horizontal displacement)
•
Be seated with your lower back fully supported by the back rest and/or with your shoulders
against the shoulder pads
•
Adapt the foot support in such a way that your knees are approximately 90º flexed in the starting
position or in an alternative desired position for ankle exercising
•
Place your feet on the foot support and grasp the handles
Execution
•
Contract your abdominal and low back muscles before you start with the exercise
•
Extend your legs in a slow and controlled manner so the leg extension becomes a smooth and
continuous movement
•
Keep the extended position for two seconds and do not overextend your knees
•
Flex your legs at a controlled and smooth pace
•
In case of an explosive movement be assured that there is ample space at the head side of the
squat
•
In case of an explosive movement it is recommended to start slowly in order to gain proper
propriocepcis on launch and descent. Upon proper motor ability one can increase to full extension
with a large instant of floating.
