Notes on special installation situations
Fixing rope probe
•
The end of the probe needs to be
secured if the probe would otherwise
touch the silo wall, the cone or another
part, or the probe comes closer than 0.5
m to a concrete wall. This is what the
internal thread in the probe weight is
intended for:
– for 4 mm rope:M14
– for 6 mm rope:M20

Preferably use the 6 mm rope probe due
to the higher tensile strength when fixing
a rope probe
•
The fixing must be either reliably
grounded or reliably insulated (see
accessories). If it is not possible to
mount the probe weight with a safe
earthed connection, it can be secured
using an isolated eyelet, which is
available as an accessory
(see page 79).
•
In order to prevent an extremely high
tensile load and the risk of rope crack,
the rope has to be slack. Make the rope
longer than the required measuring
range such that there is a sag in the
middle of the rope that is
≥
1cm/m (1"/
100") of the rope length.
