4.3 EMERGENCY CALL
The emergency function is a simple function which can save lives at the decid-
ing moment. In all, you can save 5 emergency numbers (relatives, neighbours,
friends, rescue). These numbers, previously saved in order of sequence, will be auto-
matically dialed in an emergency by pressing the emergency button on the back
of the mobile phone.
During the emergency call, a warning tone continuously sounds so that you and
the person you rang know that it is an emergency! If you cannot get through on
the first number, the second number will be called automatically. If you cannot
get through on the second number, the third number will be called etc (max. three
ways for max. five numbers).
If you make connection, the person you are ringing must press the “0” button within
60 seconds otherwise the conversation will be cut off. Confirmation with “0” is
necessary so that the emergency call does not go to the answering machine by
mistake. In an unsuccessful emergency call, your
emporia LifePLUS automatically
takes incoming calls within the next few hours (without pressing a button).
If no emergency number is saved or your phone card has run out or you are not
allowed under a foreign network (e.g. Roaming not activated), 112 can be selected
by pressing the button.

4.3.1 Saving emergency numbers

Set up a maximum five emergency numbers and their sequence. These
numbers must already be saved in the phone book.

With the cover opened, go into the phone book with and select with .

Confirm saving of emergency numbers with bestätigen.

Select to save emergency number 1.

Answer the question, whether an emergency SMS should be sent before
making an emergency call, either with Yes (in case mobile number or
telephone with SMS function is available for emergency contact) or No with
, and do the same when asked if it is to do with a private person or help
organisation. For an aid organisation, neither the warning tone (so as not to
be confused with emergency services) nor the pressing of “0” is necessary.

For a maximum of four more emergency numbers, repeat these steps
correspondingly.
