4.1 SMS TEXT MESSAGES
An SMS (Short Message Service) is a short written message which can be sent to
all mobile phone users. Costs are only incurred when sending the SMS.
Note: Some landline telephones can also receive SMS messages.
4.1.1 SMS Service Center number
The central number of the network operator through which all short messages
are developed. This number is usually already saved by the network operator
on the SIM card and does not have to be entered or altered by you any
further

4.1.2 Writing an SMS

Slide open the mobile phone and select SMS messages with
(already
shaded in dark).

Select Write New with

Compose your SMS with the aid of the numerical key pad. To delete individ-
ual characters give
a short press. By doing so each character that is to
the left of the vertical line
|
will be deleted. To delete the whole text keep
depressed for 3 seconds.

Any time you see the
|
symbol, this means you are in Text. To move around
(forward, back) in Text use
. Through a long press on
you can
jump back or forward from one line to another.
All characters and functions which can be selected are listed in the table below.
Each button represents several characters or functions according to how often
the relevant button is pressed in Abc–mode (see explanations according to the
table).
