1. Fuel Tank - Pressure Refueling
A. General
(1) This task gives the procedure to do the pressure refueling of the aircraft.
(2) These fuels are approved by Embraer:
• Fuel JET A-1 (Refer to Appendix C - Consumable Materials)
• Fuel JET A (Refer to Appendix C - Consumable Materials)
• Fuel JP-8 (Refer to Appendix C - Consumable Materials)
(3) These fuel additives are approved by Embraer:
• DIETHYLENE GLYCOL MONOMETHYL ETHER
• CORROSION INHIBITOR/LUBRICITY ADDITIVE MIL-I-25017
NOTE:
Obey the fluid manufacture's specifications to find the additive
proportions for each fuel.
(4) Use the pressure refueling adapter and the pressure-refueling control
panel to do this procedure.
(5) The pressure-refueling control panel includes a repeater indicator display
which has an internal fuel-quantity preselecting system for refueling the
tanks.
(6) The pressure refueling adapter is installed adjacent to the pressure-refueling
control panel, behind an access door on the right wing-to-fuselage fairing in
zone 191.
B. Job Set-Up
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE
CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO THE MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (GHSH TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A).
(2) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance of the fuel sys-
tem (GHSH TASK 28-00-00-910-801-A).
(3) Statically ground the aircraft (GHSH TASK 20-40-02-910-801-A).
NOTE:
Make all grounding connections between the fuel source, air-
craft, and fuel nozzle (refer to the requirements of the local
regulatory authorities).
(4) Energize the aircraft with an external DC power supply (GHSH TASK 24-
41-00-860-801-A).
NOTE:
If an external DC power supply is not available, lift the guard
and set the POWER SELECTOR switch to the BATTERY
position on the pressure-refueling control panel.
