3.6 Setup procedure
To start a setup session you must first establish a connection with the Control Unit. Follow
the procedure for establishing a connection as explained in Chapter 2.
The commands in this section require full-access privileges. Therefore, you must log on with
a password. For more information on access privileges, see section 3.3.
3.6.1 Logging on with a password
When you log on with a password, you have full access to commands that may have major
repercussions on the unit’s operation. For the list of commands available to full-access users,
refer to section 3.3.2.
The password is shared, i.e. you must use the same password to log on to all three
communication ports. However, you can only modify the password through COM 3.
Moreover, access on the three ports is independent, meaning that you can log on to COM 1
without logging on to COM 2 (assuming that the Terminal protocol is used on COM 1
and COM 2).
To log on:
1. Press <Enter> to display the CU4> prompt.
2. Type
log
<password> and press <Enter>.
The password must not be longer than 15 characters and cannot have spaces. The default
password is abcde. You must use this password the first time you log on to the Control
Unit to establish a session. You should change the password to safeguard your system.
See section 3.6.4 on page 3-10.
A message confirming that you were granted access appears:
CU4>log abcde
Access granted
3.6.2 Setting the time
To set the time on the Control Unit:
1. Press <Enter> to display the CU4> prompt.
2. To display the Control Unit’s current time, type
time
and press <Enter>. A message
displaying the time appears:
CU4>time
Current time is: 14:29:32
The time displayed is based on the 24-hour international system. It may differ slightly
from the actual time (
±
1 second). The time format is {HH:MM:SS}.
hours: 1-24 (for example, 14:00 means 2:00 PM)
minutes: 1-60
seconds: 1-60
