Basis for the table is a safety valve with a trip pressure of 6 bar, system
pressure of pstat + 0.5 bar and the expansion volume of the solar plant
installed. The expansion volume (Vd) is derived from the collector volume
(Vkoll), the volume of the connecting pipes (Vr) and the plant volume (Va)
multiplied by the coefficient of expansion (e) of the heat transfer medium.
Design of intermediate container
Intermediate tanks are to be used in all plants with very short pipe runs
and/or very small cross sections, or with large collector areas or collectors
with large volume (content of return pipework < 50% of a properly de-
signed expansion tank V
