Acclarix AX4 Diagnostic Ultrasound System User Manual Features

7.3.1.1. B-mode Generic Measurements

The system supports the following types of generic B-mode measurements:



Distance



Circ/Area



Angle



Volume



Stenosis

Distance

: The distance measurement is always done with a caliper pair.

To measure Distance with a caliper pair:

Invoke the measure function on a B-mode image.

If Distance is not the default measurement, select

Distance

from the touchscreen.

Move the caliper to the desired location.

Press the

Set

key to place that caliper and add the second half of the caliper pair.

Presses of the

Switch

key toggle which side of the caliper can be moved. Pressing the

Set

key completes the measurement and allows you to begin another measurement.

Circ/Area

: Area and Circumference can be measured with an Ellipse, Trace or Spline tool.

To measure Area or Circumference with an Ellipse:

Invoke the measure function on a B-mode image.

If Area or Circumference is not the default measurement, select

Circ/Area

from the

touchscreen.

If Ellipse is not the default tool, press

Tool Options

to switch to Ellipse

Move the caliper to the desired location.

Press the

Set

key to place that caliper and add the second half of the caliper pair.

Press the

Set

key to place the second half of the caliper. An ellipse appears and can be

adjusted with the trackpad.
Presses of the

Switch

key toggle between controlling each side of the ellipse caliper and

the ellipse diameter. Pressing the

Set

key completes the measurement and allows you to

begin another measurement.

To measure Area or Circumference with a Trace:

Invoke the measure function on a B-mode image.

If Area or Circumference is not the default measurement, select

Circ/Area

from the

touchscreen.
If Trace is not the default tool, press

Tool Options

to switch to Trace. Trace can be done

with a Draw option. Draw will follow your movements.

Move the caliper to the desired location.

Press the

Set

key to place the caliper and start drawing the trace.

Moving the caliper now leaves behind a trail of dots to mark the trace outline
