Pre-metering relay-output
The pre-metering relay output can be used, for example, to activate an additional pump for
the start-up. This output can be separately activated under PREMETERING OUT
SEPARATE: YES
in the CONFIGURATION FUNCTIONS menu (set to NO ex works)
Together with the output SP1, the relay output is activated during the pre-metering.
5.9
Special application “CIP”
The special application “CIP phase separation” of the conductivity measuring instrument
LMI 02 enables precise measurement of the concentration of alkaline or acidic detergent
and disinfecting solutions.
In this mode of operation, the LMI 02 compares the conductivity value with two preset limit
values (SP1 and SP2). If the conductivity value exceeds or undercuts the limit value, two
potential-free switching signals become available.
These switching signals and the 0/4 - 20 mA current output (this corresponds to 0-100% of
the selected measuring range) can be used via a PLC for the automatic, conductivity-
dependent control of return valves in the CIP system.

Switchover to CIP-mode
The switchover to CIP mode can be executed place in the CONFIGURATION FUNCTIONS
menu (see chapter
). (set to AS mode = priming mode in the factory).
5.9.2
Differences in function from AS mode
NOTE
The functions only available in AS mode are no longer displayed in the operating menus.
- When approaching the rated value, SP1 no longer works in “pulse/pause mode of
operation”, but as a limit value with a hysteresis of approx. 0.5%.
- The maximum metering time monitoring for SP1 is inactive.
- No pre-metering is possible
- Metering enable input is effectless
- Level input is effectless
- Switching functions are preset on delivery:
SPI relay on if actual value > limit value of SP1
SP2 relay on if actual value > limit value of SP2
Inversion of the switching functions is separately possible for each limit value under
INVERT SWITCH in the CONFIGURATION FUNCTIONS menu (see chapter
