INTRODUCTION
EPX400-xC transmitters
(5C with 2G modem, 6C with 3G modem) are a modern,
microprocessor devices enabling remote configuration of control panels, thanks to
data transmission in real time and simulating a telephone line (PSTN). In case of
telephone line failure or by selecting the appropriate prefix, the device is able to
perform a connection to the monitoring station, allowing you to transfer data from
the control panel via Contact ID (DTMF) or SIA (FSK) protocol.
EPX400-xC transmitter enables remote configuration of the control panel even when
PSTN network is not connected to the protected premises. Additionally no PSTN
modem is needed at installer site. Data is transmitted over the GPRS network which
reduces the cost of transmission. Installer must only have access to the EPX400-xC
device via OSM server at monitoring station and have access to the network with
incoming traffic from EPX400-xC enabled (public IP address or TCP port redirected in
case of public APN or connection to corporate private APN).
Remote configuration of the control panel by GPRS using EPX400-xC is still
performed using control’s panel configuration application supplied by control panel
manufacturer. Instead of connecting PSTN modem to it, ModemEMU application
supplied by EBS is used which translates modem communication format to GPRS
transmission with EPX400-xC transmitter. EPX400-xC decodes GPRS data and
translates it to the Bell103/V.21 format used by control panel. It is possible to make
remote downloading session with any control panel equipped with Bell103/V.21
modem (to be sure write to the Technical Support Department to obtain information
on which control panels have been tested).
EPX400 Transmitter
provides the highest security of data transmission through up
to five channels of transmission: ETHERNET, GPRS, SMS, PSTN.
The primary purpose is to use the device as a security systems transmission module
in ETHERNET, GPRS and PSTN. The transmitter works with all most popular alarm
systems. Ethernet connection and packet data transmission (GPRS), can reduce the
operating cost of the alarm systems. This device provides an opportunity to send text
messages to private mobile phones.
An advanced encoding methods like a 256 bits encoding key and AES (Advanced
Encryption Standard) provides for security of data transmission. As a result reception
of this transmission is possible with OSM.Server monitoring receiver system.
Programming of receiver is possible:
o
Locally:
- with computer and “GPRS Transmitters Configurator”
software
- with computer and web browser via Ethernet connection
o
Remotely : - via GPRS connection (or SMS)
- via SMS commands
- via transmission on CSD channel
