8.2.2
Lower Section
The lower Channel Assign section controls the following channel functions:
• The Preamp buttons configure frequently accessed channel strip parameters: micro-
phone preamp input
GAIN
,
PAD
,
48V
phantom, polarity
INV
,
DELAY
, digital
TRIM
,
PAN
,
HPF
and
LPF
.
• The
L/R
and
CTR
Channel Assign buttons allow assignment to the main Left/Right
and Center/Mono buses.
• The
AUX/GROUP
buttons allow control of the aux send or group. You can adjust send
levels, send in/out and pre/post for each channel. Stereo Aux Sends can have their
stereo pan adjusted using the
AUX PAN
button and you can put the console into
AUX MODE
putting the aux send levels onto the channel faders.
• The
EFFECTS
buttons allow control of the four internal effects sends. You can adjust
send levels and send in/out.
8.2.2.1
Gain Pad
The light blue
GAIN PAD
button controls the preamplifier’s gain for individual chan-
nels equipped with mic preamps. The V-Pot knob adjusts the gain while pressing the
ASSIGN
button enables or disables the pad. The scribble strip displays the channel
name until the V-Pot knob is rotated, then it briefly displays the numerical gain set-
ting in dB while the V-Pot LEDs display the relative gain setting. The bottom line of the
scribble strip displays the word Gain. The displayed gain number is calculated by adding
the mic pre gain and the pad value (–23 dB) if enabled, so the number you see is the
actual amount of gain being applied to the input. For Mic/Line inputs 1-48 this range is
between 15 dB and 70 dB without the pad and –8 dB and 47 dB with the pad engaged.
For stereo inputs, there is 0 dB to 20 dB of available gain (there is no pad). For all other
channels, this control has no function.
Holding
CTRL
and pressing the
GAIN PAD
Channel Assign button resets all channels to
the default Gain and Pad setting of 15 dB with no pad.
8.2.2.2
48V
The light blue
48V
Channel Assign button enables 48V phantom powering for a par-
ticular microphone channel via the
ASSIGN
button. Only Mic/Line inputs 1-48 have
this function. The scribble strip displays the channel name on the top line and the word
+48V
on the bottom. The V-Pot has no function for 48V so its LEDs will be unlit.
Holding
CTRL
and pressing the
48V
Channel Assign button disables 48V on all channels.
8.2.2.3
Delay
The light blue
DELAY
button allows adjustment of the channel delay. For input chan-
nels this is 0-150 ms and for output channels there is 0-700 ms of delay available. The
V-Pot knob adjusts the delay time while pressing the
ASSIGN
button takes the delay
In/Out of the signal chain. The scribble strip displays the channel name on the top line
until the V-Pot knob is rotated, then it briefly displays the delay amount while the V-Pot
LEDs indicate the relative delay amount. The bottom line of the scribble strip displays
the word
delay
.
Holding
CTRL
and pressing the
DELAY
Channel Assign button resets all channel delays
to 0 ms and sets them all Out.
