11.2 User Keys
Eight User Keys (1-8) can be easily assigned to instantly access a particular screen or function. These but-
tons allow associating a particular function/preset/control with a particular channel and then assigning that
combination to one of the user buttons. Presets are discussed in Section 12.13. User Keys are configured via
the Utility>User Keys screen. See Section 12.9.8 for details.
Holding CTRL and pressing the #1 and #5 keys are also shortcut keys for the Edit menu copy and paste com-
mands.
11.3 Mute Group Masters
The eight mute group master buttons are located above the Intelligent Encoder. These buttons mute/un-
mute all channels assigned to the associated mute group when pressed.
Assign a channel to a mute group by:
1. From the
Channel>Overview screen, a channel can be assigned to any combination of the eight mute
groups. This method is channel specific; it allows you to assign a single channel to multiple mute groups.
2. From the control surface, a channel can be assigned by enabling one of the Mute Group buttons in the
center Channel Assign area and then pressing the unlit
ASSIGN
button for each channel that you wish
to add. This method is Mute Group specific; it allows you to assign
multiple channels to a single mute group (see Section 3.9).
3. From the Utility>MuteGrps touchscreen, you can assign any
channel to any mute group. This method is Mute Group specific;
it allows you to assign multiple channels to a single mute group
(see Section 12.9.6).
Channels muted by a mute group flash their mutes to indicate they
have been muted by the mute group. Alternately, a solidly lit Mute
button indicates a channel that is muted on its own (via its local
mute button). Unmuting these channels while the mute master is still
enabled causes them to resume flashing indicating that they are still
muted by the group.
Channels may belong to multiple mute groups and multiple mute
masters may be enabled at once. In this case, as long as one mute
group is active, the channel remains muted (the mute groups are logi-
cally OR’d together).
Post-fader sends are also affected by mute groups since the send from
the channel is after the channel mute. Pre-fader sends (both pre-fader
and pre-DSP) are not affected by mute groups because the send from
the channel is ahead of the channel’s mute switch (see signal flow
diagram).
