Countershaft Assembly

How to Disassemble the Countershaft Assembly

Special Instructions

Never use the PTO gear as a pressing base. The
narrow width of this gear can cause breakage.

Special Tools

Snap ring pliers

Press

To Disassemble

From each countershaft front remove the drive
gear retaining snap ring.

Using the rear face of 4th speed gear as a base,
press the drive gear, PTO gear, and 4th speed
gear from each countershaft. This removes the
front bearing inner race.

Using the rear face of 2nd speed gear as a base,
press 3rd speed gear and 2nd speed gear from
each countershaft.

Inspect the keys and roll pin, remove if damaged.
