Accelerator Cable Removal at Governor
To remove the accelerator cable (9) from the governor,
loosen the nuts (13) securing the cable to the accelera-
tor cable bracket (14) at the rear axle and unhook the
spring from the upper governor lever (15)(Ref Fig. 4).

To remove the accelerator cable rod from the carburetor
throttle plate (Ref Fig. 4), twist the plastic connector
counterclockwise (1) away from the throttle rod, line up
the slot with the tabs on the rod and remove the rod from
the carburetor throttle lever by lifting up (2).
To install the accelerator cable, proceed in reverse
order. Remove the slack from the cable after the throttle
rod has been adjusted. Lengthening the spring results in
a speed increase while shortening it will result in a
speed decrease.
Road test the vehicle after adjusting the throttle rod and
the cable. For fleet vehicles drive the vehicle at the max-
imum governed road speed; the engine should run at a
maximum of 2500 RPM.
Accelerator Cable Removal and Installation
at Pedal
To access the accelerator cable at the accelerator pedal,
remove the rocker panels, lift the floor mat and remove
the access cover from the floor (Ref Fig. 5).
To remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator
pedal remove the rubber snap-in holding the cable to the
floorboard (Ref Fig. 6). Rotate the cable upward until the
bullet lifts out of the slot in the pedal arm. Remove any
wire ties holding the cable and loosen the nuts securing
the cable to the accelerator cable bracket at the rear
axle and lift cable from bracket. Unhook cable from the
accelerator compression spring and yoke.

To install the accelerator cable, proceed in reverse
order.
