7. Warranty
The manufacturer warrants the device in the event of malfunction attributable to
production wear and tear. In addition, the legal warranty agreements with regard
to the sales outlet remain in place. The warranty is null and void in the event of:
•
Wear parts and natural wear and tear;
•
Use of other components in the device than the original E-Trailer parts;
•
Non-compliance with the instructions for use and installation as issued by
E-Trailer, by connecting the device to an incorrect voltage, for example;
•
Unprofessional handling;
•
Unprofessional shipment packaging;
•
Damage caused by chemical or electrochemical reaction, rust, corrosion
or water damage;
•
Damage caused by abnormal circumstantial conditions;
•
Non-functioning and decorative parts that do not impact the standard use
of the device, including potential scratches and possible colour differences;
•
Repair work not carried out by one of our approved services and/or one
of our approved contractual service partners, or when non-original parts
are used;
•
Use of the device in a non-household environment (in other words
professional usage).
7.1 Scope of the warranty
The warranty is valid for defects that arise within 24 months of the purchase
agreement between the point of sale and the consumer. The manufacturer will
resolve defects by either repairing the malfunction or supplying replacement
equipment. In the event that the manufacturer grants warranty, the duration of
the warranty with regard to the repaired or replaced components does not start
all over again, but is a continuation of the original warranty. Far-reaching claims
are excluded from the warranty, in particular those demanding compensation for
damage by the buyer or third parties. Legal provisions and product liability remain
unaffected by the above.
The costs incurred by making use of the manufacturer’s E-Trailer service
department for rectifying a defect under warranty – for example, material,
operational, travel or shipment costs – are borne by the manufacturer, in so far
as the service department can carry out its work in the Netherlands. Work carried
out by the service department in other countries does not fall under the warranty.
