Installing your car stereo

Oldsmobile

98 1984-1990

Delta 88 1986-1988

To install your car stereo:

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.

Place the gear shift in low, then remove the rubber trim boot from the steering
column.

Remove the two Phillips screws from the radio trim bezel.

Unhook the ashtray and light wiring terminal, then remove the trim bezel.

Remove the hardware that secures the factory mounting brackets to the factory head
unit. Remove and retain the brackets.

Go to “Completing the installation” on page 76.
