Installing your car stereo

Chevrolet

Nova 1985-1988

To install your car stereo:

1

Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit.

2

Remove the ashtray, then remove the two screws from the ashtray bracket.

3

Remove the two screws above the radio opening, then remove the radio trim bezel.

4

Cut and remove all mounting tabs on bracket 1 

except

 the B tabs. Each mounting tab 

has a letter stamped on the back of the tab. Cut the tabs with the blade pointed away 
from you and your fingers.

5

Go to “Completing the installation” on page 76.
