Once the gas has been allowed to pass
through the safety valve, it flows to the gas jet
and burner. These have been specifically
designed to eliminate most of the normal main-
tenance required due to the corrosive contami-
nants in the gas, as well as soot and rust
which fall from the flue pipe. The jet has an
orifice made of an industrial ruby which has
been laser-beam drilled. Each model of
Dometic refrigerator uses a different size orifice
in order to maintain the required amount of
heat at the siphon pump. To clean the jet and
burner, soak them
in an alcohol base solvent
and allow to air dry. DO NOT use a pin or
needle.
This will distort or shatter the orifice.

If you determine that disassembly is required,
be aware there are two model designs for
manual refrigerators.
The design pictured
here
will be discussed first.

Now disconnect the 12 volts at the terminal
block and unplug the 120 volt cord. Remove
the two mounting screws on the left and pull
the metal locking arm out from under the
burner housing.
