Receiving early warning "Area Mail"
■ What is Area Mail?
Area Mail is a service that enables you to receive Early Warnings issued by
the Japan Meteorological Agency.
When the FOMA terminal is in the service area, Area Mail is automatically received.
・ A subscription to i-mode is not necessary to receive Area Mail.
・ Area Mail cannot be received regardless of the Receive setting in the
following cases:
- The power is off - " " is displayed
- During a voice call - During a videophone call
- During international roaming - In Omakase Lock
- In Self mode
- During infrared data exchange/iC communications
・ When you receive Area Mail, the dedicated beep tone or ring tone sounds
and " " appears at the top of the screen.

Using SMS

This service allows you to exchange text messages between DOCOMO
terminals, or with subscribers to overseas operators other than DOCOMO.
