Before Installing the DOCOMO Connection Manager

Steps for Installing

a

Prepare the FOMA terminal and FOMA USB Cable with Charge Function 02 (optional) or FOMA
USB Connection Cable (optioinal)

b

Check for a contractual coverage and the service of your Internet service provider

c

If there is any connection software other than the DOCOMO Connection Manager, change the
settings not to start the program automatically as needed

Internet Explorer settings

Before installing the DOCOMO Connection Manager, make sure to
make connection setting to [ ダイヤルしない (Never dial a connection)]
on the Internet Options setting of the Internet Explorer.

Start the Internet Explorer, select [ ツール (Tools)] . [ インターネット
オプション (Internet Options)]

Select [ 接続 (Connections)] tab, then select [ ダイヤルしない (Never
dial a connection)]

Click [OK]

Note

<Using a connection software other than the DOCOMO Connection Manager>

The DOCOMO Connection Manager has equivalent functions of following software so that there is
no need of using such software at the same time.e
Change the settings not to start or uninstall the following software as needed.
■ Software not required to be used simultaneously
•  mopera U start up tool
•  mopera U connection & setting tool
•  FOMA PC setting software
•  FOMA byte counter
When you use Mzone (DOCOMO public wireless LAN service) using the DOCOMO Connection
Manager, uninstall following public wireless LAN connection software.
* If any of the following software is installed, the DOCOMO Connection Manager cannot establish

the Mzone connection.

•  U public wireless LAN utility software
•  DOCOMO public wireless LAN utility software
•  DOCOMO public wireless LAN utility program

Log on as a user of the DOCOMO Connection Manager

For Windows 7/Windows Vista

An administrator account is required. If you log on with an account other than the administrator
account, a screen will appear asking to enter a user name and the password during the
installation process.

■

For Windows XP

You need to log on with one of the Administrators Group accounts or a user of " コンピュータの管
理者 (Administrator)" account.

b

Quit all running programs

Quit resident programs on Windows including antivirus software.
• Example: Right-click an icon on a task bar, select [ 閉じる (Close)] or [ 終了 (Quit)].
