MACHINE WILL NOT START
1.
Check that the disconnect switch is in the “on” posi-
tion.
2.
Check that the bandwheel doors are closed.
3.
The hydraulic pump motor must be on and SAW
HEAD control must be in "down/auto" before the
band drive motor will start.

The
Emergency Stop
pushbutton needs to be reset
(rotate the button head
clockwse
).
5.
The band broken proximity switch
(1 PRS)
is en-

6.
Check the circuit breakers/fuses for tripping or
burnout.
7.
Push the motor starter overload reset buttons in
the electrical cabinet. If overload tripping occurs,
locate and correct the problem.
8.
Check the control transformer for power.
9.
Check the hydraulic motor and wiring.
10.
Check the starter, relay coils and contacts for faulty
operation.
11.
Have an electrical service person check the continu-

MACHINE STARTS, BUT WON’T CONTINUE
RUNNING
1.
The saw band is broken or too long and is tripping
the band broken proximity switch

1.
Decrease the feed rate setting.
2.
Check for a worn or slipping band drive belt. The
belt must be dry and free of oil, grease and cutting
fluid.
3.
Check for proper saw band tension.
4.
Check for proper operation of the band broken
proximity switch
(1 PRS)
.
BLADE TOOTH GULLETS ARE LOADING
1.
Check the positioning of the band brush. Replace
the brush, if necessary.
2.
Increase the band speed setting, or decrease the
feed rate or feed force setting.
3.
Check for improper coolant application.
4.
Use a coarser pitch saw band.
SAW BAND SQUEAL
1.
Faulty stock is being used: Check for heavy scale,
inclusions, hard spots, etc.
2.
Incorrect band speed, feed rate or feed force setting
is being used.
3.
Coolant is not being applied correctly.
SAW BAND VIBRATION
1.
Check for a dull or damaged saw band.
2.
Incorrect band speed, or feed force feed rate setting
is being used.
