General Troubleshooting

Table 5-1 through Table 5-3 list how to identify and solve problems that could occur with
your system, disk drive, and terminal.

Table 5-1 System Troubleshooting

Problem

Possible Cause

Action

Power indicator not on.

System is not plugged in.

No power at the wall outlet.

Power supply failure.

Internal power supply cables
not reconnected after
installing options.

The overload protection
circuitry of the power
supply may have shut down
because of abnormal
condition on the power line.

Turn off the system, plug it in,
and then turn it back on again.

Use another wall outlet.

Contact your service
representative.

Reconnect cables.

Turn the system off, then turn it
back on.
