2-6-4 Setup procedure for ‘PPTP’:
PPTP requires two kinds of settings: WAN interface setting (setup IP address) and
PPTP setting (PPTP user name and password).
Here we start from WAN interface setting:
Here you select the type of how to obtain the IP address from your service provider.
You can choose ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’ (i.e. DHCP, please refer to
‘Cable Modem’
), or ‘Use the following IP address’ (i.e. static IP
).
WAN interface settings must be correctly set, or the Internet connection will fail, even
though the PPTP settings are correct. Please contact your Internet service provider if
you don’t know what you should fill in these fields.
