Step 3 - START PYLON NAVIGATION
- switch on the direction indicator arrows
- the hang glider in the middle of the display starts to flash
- the multifunction display switches automatically to the “start pylon waypoint
navigation” mode and shows the distance to the current destination in meters
(range 0–9999 m) alternate to a UTC time. The distance remains for
approximately 8 sec and the UTC for 2 sec. By a short pressing the
o
key, the
current waypoint name is shown (ex. “MON1”).

Multifunction display in the FAI sector 1,2,3
Step 4 - START PYLON VALIDATION
- when the multifunction display shows the message “SPOK” added to an acoustic
signal, the Start Pylon has been validated
- the VL100 chronometer is automatically reset.
- the 8 arrow of the direction indicator disappear.
- the hang glider symbol placed in the middle of the display stops flashing.
- the multifunction display returns to what it was before the navigation.
- VL100 release waypoint name memory (“NOWP”) and is ready to receive new
data from the GPS (see Step 1).
3 start pylon types are allowed. They are set in NAV submenu by par. n. 1 SPMO
(0=no waypoint start pylon , 1=waypoint type SP1 , 2=waypoint type SP2 ,
3=waypoint type Sp3).
