8.1.12 Physical  Reset 

A user  can load the conf iguration of  the switch to f actory defaults using a port loop-back. This also loads the f actory 
def ault IP conf iguration. This  option may be required  if  the switch IP address is not known and /or the switch is not 
communicating over the  network. The  new  conf iguration is available  immediately. The  f ollowing procedure shows 
the steps f or resetting the f actory def aults using loop-back: 

a.  Loopback between Port-1 & Port-2 of  the main  switch using standard Ethernet  cable 

b.  Power  on the board and wait  till the Ethernet  connection is established  

c.  Remove the  loopback cable 

 

Note: The  f actory def ault conf iguration is only loaded and not stored. To permanently  store this conf iguration, ref er 
to section 7.1.9.
