15 PUTTING THE LIFTGATE INTO SERVICE
•
Make sure that all bolted connections are finished and fastened in accordance with the bolt instructions in this manual and the required
torque settings detailed in appendix 19.2 on page 51.
•
Make sure that all electrical connections are finished in accordance with the instructions in section 14.
•
Switch on the main electrical power to the liftgate.
•
Switch on the main battery isolator switch in the external control box.
WARNING
•
Improper use of the liftgate will put the operator at great risk of serious bodily injury and death. If in doubt how to use liftgate
correctly, installer should consult the operation manual and decals prior to continuing.
•
Air might be trapped in the hydraulic circuits, as long as the liftgate has not been bled. Air can cause the liftgate to make unexpected
movements, and can put the installer at great risk of serious bodily injury. The installer should remain vigilant, and stay out of the
range of motion of the platform and the moving parts of the liftgate as long as the hydraulic circuits have not been purged.
•
Make sure the platform is halfway between the platform stop bumpers and the ground. Push the SLIDE OUT button to slide the lift
frame into work position. Stop when you hear the hydraulic pump turn in overpressure.
•
Manually unfold the flip-over point.
•
Push the LIFT button to raise the platform to the vehicle floor. Stop when you hear the hydraulic pump turn in overpressure.
NOTICE
Check for visible leaks of hydraulic oil as the system is being pressurized. If there is leakage, correct the problem prior to continuing.
