for your country.

•   Have any repairs done by authorised and trained repair

personnel. Otherwise there is the risk of damage through
improper use and the guarantee will be rendered invalid!

•   Make sure that the motion detector is not damaged in

any way during the drilling of the mounting holes!

•   Clean the compact alarm system only with a dry or

damp cloth. Never immerse it in water!

Tip!

•   Align the motion detector in such a way that no sources

of heat such as heating radiators or waste air outlets
are in the detection range! The heat radiated by these
objects could affect the proper working of the motion
detector as it could detect the radiated heat as motion
and trigger a false alarm!

•   Use the system components only within the temperatures

specified in the section about “Technical information”.
Higher or lower temperatures could lead to the device
not working properly!

Preparing for first use

Preparation and materials required

The items described below are not supplied with the device.
This information and dimensions are given for guidance
only and may not be appropriate in all cases. The quality of
materials required should be selected to suit the situation at
the installation site.
You will need:

 8 batteries 1. V type LR6 (mignon / AA, alkaline)
(not included) for the power supply to the control unit
and the external siren.

A pencil for marking the mounting points.

A cross-head screwdriver for mounting the device using
the mounting screws and dowels.

A hammer-action drill (and drill bit) for mounting the
device using the mounting screws and dowels.

A hand drill / electronic screwdriver for drilling out the
ø 2 mm mounting holes

p

on the rear of the housing

o

of the motion detector.

Ear protection.

Positioning

Control unit

o

The control unit must be positioned in dry areas inside

buildings only.

o

Ensure that the position is easily reached but not im-

mediately noticeable.

External siren

o

Position the external siren in a position as sheltered

from the weather as possible outside the building or in
a dry place inside the building.

o

Ensure that it can be easily heard but is not easily

accessible to an intruder.

Motion detector

o

Position the motion detector in a dry place inside the

building at a height of approx. 1. to 2 m.

o

Ensure that the normal range (approx. 6 m) of the motion

detector covers an area that an intruder could use (see Fig. I).

The motion detector reacts to movement of sources of
heat within the detection range. Select this range so
that false alarms caused by pets and other changing
heat sources e.g. emitters of heat or light (e.g. solar or
halogen radiation) cannot occur. The range of the motion
detector depends on temperature, size and direction of
motion of the object. In general the sensor detects motion
transverse to the sensor better than motion directly to-
wards or away from it. If possible you should select a
corner position for the motion detector with no windows
or heaters in its detection range.
