Detection Range
Detection Conditions
The detection range as viewed from the camera is as described below.
The alarms cannot operate in the following cases:
•
When the driver's face is not within the detection range
(Examples: When the driver is changed or when the detection range has fallen out of the range ad-
justed at installation)
•
When the alarm voice notification is disabled in the operation settings
Correct operation may not be possible in the following cases:
•
When the face is partially hidden by an object
(Examples: When the eyes, nose or mouth is hidden by the steering wheel, a mask, hair, hat, eye-
glass frame, or light or images reflected on eyeglass lenses)
•
When wearing eyeglasses or sunglasses with a special coating (such as a coating with a strong near
infrared ray blocking effect)
•
When the shape of the eyes is difficult to detect due to changes in facial expression or eye makeup
(cosmetics)
•
When the face of a person other than the driver is visible to the camera
•
When the face or camera is exposed to light such as sunlight or the headlights of an oncoming ve-
hicle
•
When the camera is damaged or dirty, or there are substances such as water droplets on the cam-
era
•
When installation has not been performed correctly
•
When an object that strongly reflects near infrared rays is nearby
•
When other devices that use near infrared rays as lighting are nearby
