Installing System Components

Installing the Hard-Drive Tray

CAUTION:

Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You

should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized is not covered by
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

Insert the sled tray’s standoff holes into the sled tray standoffs.

See Figure 3-36.

Replace the three screws securing the hard-drive tray. See Figure 3-36.

Replace the internal hard-drives. See "Installing a Hard-Drive Carrier" on

page 189.

Replace the back cover. See "Installing the Back Cover" on page 151.

Replace the sled. See "Installing a Sled" on page 144.

Interposer Extender

The following table lists the types of interposer extenders supported for a

specific system board model.

NOTE:

For information about identifying the sled’s system board model number,

see "Identifying System Board Model Number" on page 221.
